We did a route I've never done before, which was very good. We started at Rainbow Gardens, went up to Strong Canyon, and bombed down strong next to the creek. Then went down to the 29th street TH, back to the fork near Taylor Canyon, and back down.
Video coming tonight... |

Oh, by the way, I left my truck keys IN THE IGNITION, unlocked, in the parking lot.
So at about 4 minutes in the video, I can see my truck is still there. :haha: |

I rode this loop today and really dug it. A good bit of climbing buyt it's at a very nice rate. it never really pegs you off the HR charts like the climbs on the south end (Bues) where I've been riding do. A few techy spots to keep you honest but once you're up at lake level it's a fun bit of riding.
That first boulder garden into Strong's left a mark...on my left shin. Got me pretty good. That's a burly section for sure, especially being as wet as it is. Next time I'll remember to drop my seat before I drop in. :2thumbs:
The lower connector from the bottom of Strong's is a great dh but I think I missed a section around 29th street and dropped back down too early ending up on a flat section of gravel for longer than I'd hoped for. The section above Rainbow Gardens is uber fun on the up and down. Great berms and perfect switchbacks through that tunnel of trees. Very nice.
I really need to follow someone for a few rides as I have no idea where I'm going on some of the lower single tracks. I ended up getting skunked on a few turns. |
