Day 7 One week anniversary. No sugar yet so far. I really miss chocolate, and have discovered the joys of sugar free Oreo cookies -- those things are awesome!!

Last Friday SUCKED! They had this big shindig for all the mothers at work, and had a whole bunch of cakes and extravagant pastries brought in. There was a whole bunch of leftovers that were turned loose, and everyone but me was pounding double-decker strawberry shortcake and three-tiered fudge brownie cakes. :eek2:

How's your no carbs thing going Felicia?

Dagoba bars are by far the BEST chocolate out there. Sweetened with only a tad of evaporated cane juice (so you don't pollute your body with all that artificial sweetner). One small piece off of the entire bar is enough to give you a chocolate fix for days. You can buy the them at your natural market. My favorite is the Dark Chocolate with chiles!!

I found em at the Smith's up here in Green River. If I can find em here in cowtown, then you could prolly find em down there in the civilized world. :lol8:

Be careful though----they're sweetened with a very pernicious and dangerous chemical called Splenda. :lol8:

Oh, don't worry. I'm accustomed to the artificial sweetener digestive "express".

Day 21

Three weeks down. Now I've got momentum on my side. All of my friends/family think I'm krazy, but it's worth it.

It's no wonder obesity is a big problem in our society. Almost everything is inundated with sugar. Sugar for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then an extra dose of sugar for dessert, and sugar for snacks inbetween.

Americans are ADDICTED to sugar!! Disgusting!!

Yo Felicia ~ you still doin' your no carbs thang?

Mostly! Went to wine county for 5 days last weekend.....had a birthday and this is a holiday weekend! :haha:

I have stayed away from "processed carbs" and "processed sugar". Alcohol sugar does not count, but I still get the Headache if I over indulge.

For my birthday a co-worker bought me a Vente Frapachino from Starbucks with whip cream on top and I enjoyed every moment of the consumption process. Huge headache later......

Usually every Lent I give up caffeine, chocolate, alcohol and sugar. I did not do it this year.....and I feel "off my mark" right now. At the end of this week, I will be good!!! Thanks for the support! (I do this every year for medical reasons.....I passed this year with flying colours anyways!) :roflol:

You know, once you get rid of the sugar, it is really easy to get rid of the caffeine. Try it!!! You will feel better. :2thumbs:

Isn't it funny how they try to break you? "Oh, you deserve this cake" "Just have a piece of chocolate"

Then you'll start hearing crazy poop about how "sugar is a necessary nutrient" and complete GARBAGE like that. People just get jealous, that's all.

Keep it up man.
