I am looking for suggestions on good places to car camp in the West Desert mid May. I will be with 15 or some people. We will doing lots of shooting so being away from other people is important.
Thanks for any input! |

Devil's Playground - http://www.mikepearce.us/entry.asp?devils=playground&trip=23
There's some landsat stuff & maps at the bottom of the page on my link. It's kinda midway between I-80 and Idaho on the West side of the lake. Of the 3 times I've been there, only once were there other people there. Plenty of ATV riding, rock climbing, and lots of nothing.

Apparently you can shoot whatever you want in the Newfoundland Mountains. You probably won't see anybody for weeks at a time but they are also a bit of a ways out there (not sure how much driving you want to do). You have to drive 30 miles on a railroad maintenance road. I discussed at the bottom of this thread.
