|
|
I've never been partial to the Taurus brand but this new Judge is sweet! Has anybody had personal experience with this gun? Having a 410 guage mixed with a 45 long Colt sounds pretty intimidating for would be perps. I'm strongly considering one of these bad boys.
Here's what Taurus say's
Quote: What a name! It’s based on the fact that many judges are now carrying it into the courtroom with them – and for good reason. We know of no better self-defense firearm. Whether loading all 45s – all .410s or alternating them in the cylinder, the Judge is the ultimate shotgun/revolver duo.
New for 2007, we’re giving you the Judge in Ultra-Lite forged alloy. You’ll be amazed how light this gun is and how easy it is to tote around. Also new is the Judge 3” Magnum. Larger and more powerful, this Judge gives you the extra firepower you need when you have to lay down the law.

| looks like and awesome snake gun. Shot a few pheasants over dogs this year with a .410. I wonder how it would be to shoot a pheasant with a pistol. |

My Dad has one. Any pistol that fires .410 shells is way up on the cool list and you should own one.
Now, that said, it's crap for a SD/HD gun. The barrel is not long enough to get any good velocity up with .410, the pattern also is donut shaped. You hit around whatever you aim at. It isn't too accurate with the long colts either.
What it is however is a hoot to shoot and impress your buddies with. :2thumbs: |

| By the way, just so folks are aware, these pistols are starting to get harder to find. With their popularity, they go fast, but also, the ATF is giving Taurus grief saying that the pistol may be classified as a short-barreled shotgun. TC had this problem and to get around it, they took their 45/410 barrel and marked it as just being .45 Long Colt. They just happen to mention that it will also accept .410 shells. :haha: :2thumbs: |

There's a few companies making this thing, and it looks pretty cool. I tried unsuccessfully to locate a website I saw about 2 years ago that provided "alternate" .410 rounds. Some had grapeshot, others with three "miniballs." The possibilities for loads are endless.
