.......you must be a die hard romantic Ice!!! :lol8: :naughty:

If you are even thinking about sand in your mommy parts.... you need to give some serious consideration to upgrading your current lover..... trust me on this.... when the fireworks go off sand is not in the equation.

You trip looks awesome. Having worked in the cruiseship industry for 8 years, I really see cruiseship very differently than when I used to. I am still a little bitter than I gained so much wait on my last cruise, but honestly I have seen so many people have the times of their lives on cruises that I love seeing cruiseships.

Anyway, cool pictures.

Yes, most people on the ships work harder than you realize (the waiters, cabin stewards, food servers, etc. work like 16 hours a day 6 days a week. Even the casino dealers, usually double as the people who help people check in and out of the ship) but there are some advantages of being crew. For one thing the crew bars have 50 cent beers (versus the crazy high alcohol prices on the ship), free food, free shore excursions, etc.

The activity staff does very little however. If you are not seeing them, they are probably not working. There job is the most like hanging out on a cruise ship and getting paid for it.

As one of the biggest 4 employeers in Kane County --- and working with the lack of good help.. well any help for that matter --- I do realize! I salavated over them!!! What hard workers! One man told us he was working 7 days a week, but soon he would have money to leave where he lives to marry he love who also works on the ship. I thought that was so sweet!

By the way -- about what I said about the trips being cheap.. they are -- but then the bill adds a HUGE tip for the servers -- and you can take it off, but after the incredible service you will just want to throw money at them.

the staff that waited on us was incredible. I am sure they are trained to do all the 'little stuff' that makes it memorable like remembering your name, what drinks you like, etc. Our room staff must have had surveilance cameras on us cause our room was made up nearly every time we left it and on this ship the activity staff were all over the place all the time! I thought to myself 'don't these people EVER sleep?!'. Carnival does a pretty good job in the service arena. They have started to put a daily gratuity on your bill for the staff...they earn it for sure but we tipped a few of them extra because they went above and beyond the call.
Anyway, I highly recommend cruising to anyone who hasnt yet :2thumbs:

That is how our room was and we had 3 wild pre-teen girls in the room next door and they even cleaned that room. Best of all they would leave me chocolate and the girls cookies. They always had those towels folded like animals too - with sun glasses and different ones each day. The ship has it set up where the kids get to do dances and all kinds of activities with kids there own age. Kids from that ship still call my kids all the time - they really made lasting friendships there.

I suggest it too! As I said there is no need to even leave the ship the whole time, but we did some fun stuff at the islands.

Jamacia was my favorite because we did more of a local thing. We went to the Black River (think it was called) where the crocodiles are and took a boat out there. The trip there was all LOCAL! The roads are narrow, 2 way, but so narrow they honk as they go around the turns so they don't do a head on! The people were so poor. They were on the sides of the roads, some in front of the TINY, TINY little shacks they lived at. Some solded fruit and things by the road. The people on the road would even tell the driver if the way was clear -- seems that was expected or the driver honked and yelled at them.

The other islands, Cozmel and Montego Bay, we did not see the local culture, but did the tourist stuff. We swam with dolphins one place then swam with stingrays the next. The kids of course liked those 2 trips better than Jamacia.

I have to save up some vacation time. Lately all my free days are spent on going back to NY to play Santa for my nieces and such, heh. But yeah, Playa Del Carmen and anything south of it, we'll meet again.
