I made a post in the geocaching section about getting together for a caching event, but there isn't too much activity there so I thought I would try my luck here.
Whether we want to do a good hike, mess around, have a tough challenge, or just to see something new, we can make a caching event to suit our needs. Caching.
A lot of us have GPS units, and those that don't have them can still come along and help us find the caches (as long as one person has a GPS a lot of people can go caching together). So if you have never gone caching and would like to learn more about it, are a veteran cacher, or you just couldn't care less but think it would be fun to hang out with the members of this site, just come with us.
Come on over to the caching forum and help us decide when and where:

Here are some pictures from caching over the ages:

You going to try and get an event published?
The GC rules are you can't have an event to go and find caches.....

The rules say you can't get a bunch of people together for a caching event? That's strange.... |

You can't get people to go find caches and have an event published for it.
Plenty of times have I went out with other people and found caches.
Most of the events are pot lucks. The Geode event i posted about was a fun one too.
The GC website says
"In addition, an event cache should not be set up for the sole purpose of drawing together cachers for an organized hunt of another cache or caches. Such group hunts are best organized using the forums or an email distribution list. " |

Is that last photo in downtown Moab?
Looks like a cache I found in the park there once. |

No it is actually on the little island by Eastbay Golf Course.
As far as getting this published, I am going to see when and where we are doing this and see where we go from there :D. |
