Next weekend is our annual “White Rim” trip.  This is will be about my 6th trip.  We have done it once in one day, once in two days, and three times in three days.  Two years ago we were rained out after the first night.  This year will be a two day trip, we are spending the night at White Crack.  We are just hoping for good weather.

I got into mountain biking a few years ago because of the White Rim Trail.  My wife’s family is into mountain biking and invited me on a 3 day White Rim trip; I have been hooked ever since.

Sounds awesome, I would love to ride the white rim trail, my only problem is finding someone to go with! Do you have a support vehicle with tents or a popup? I am interested in what you pack or what kind of support you have! Make sure to post some pics!

We always take a support vehicle, even when we did it in one day. Let the vehicle pack the food and camping equipment and you just ride. If you do the whole loop it is about 105 miles with 3 good climbs. They only offer so many camping spots and you can only have 15 people and two vehicles per spot. The camp sites fill up quick. A 3 day trip gives you about 30 miles a day depending on where you camp and 1 good climb each day. It also leaves you plenty of time for hiking and picture taking.

You can reserve sits at

You can apply for 2009 trips on July 14 2008. Plan now for a 2 night 3 day trip next spring. It is a good motivator to stay in shape during the winter and also to get others interested in mountain biking.

Here is a map of the area.
