Hey Garren, I'm pretty new here too if you go by total # of posts. Welcome!
You can find "good, cheap & durable" bikes a plenty on www.ksl.com and craigslist. It sounds like you don't have nearly enough hobbies as it is :jump_nutt:
That looks like the left side of an R44 in your avatar. Are you a pilot as well? I currently fly Bell 206 B & L models in the GOM. |

Yup! that would be the inside of an R22 Helicopter. We flew over the provo area that day.
I have never jumped from a Helo... but one day.. I will hang from the skids. |

yes actually that is the inside of an R22 two seater Helicopter. We were flying over the provo area.
No I havent jumped from one of those yet. But someday soon. I want to climb out at 13,000 feet and hang from the skid to jump from it. That would be sweet!!! |

Nice plan! Hope you will have another pilot though. ;)
I did a jump from a helicopter in Switzerland. 12K I think, over Lauderbrunen valley; where a lot of James Bond movies were made (or so I was told.) Beautiful jump. We didn't hang from the skid though. Stood on it, facing the chopper, and then leaned back. Way fun... |

You won't be doing that from a Robinson. I had one at 11,800' MSL once, which worked out to be roughly 14,000' Density Altitude (the ceiling for both the R22 and the R44). This was one of the most uncomfortable feelings that I've had in a helicopter (I've had many). I knew it would be fairly unresponsive but I was still surprised at the finesse required to prevent exceeding several of its limitations.
On the same token; 14,000' doesn't feel too hot in a Bell 206-L4 either. If you're going to do it, I'd suggest nothing short of an A-Star B3 or even a Lama. |

I definitely have an expensive taste when it comes to hobbies. I dont understand why all the extreme ones cost an extreme dollar.. hmm?
I would love to Jump out in the Switz area. It would be sweet to just fly right in and jump. Visit the skies before the land. I have never Been Over 5500 agl in a Helo before. So I have not quite experienced the uncomfortable feelings yet. I got to sit in the sky 5 helicopter out in woodscross but havent had the chance to take flight in a Bell yet. Someday.
Good to find some more sky junkies on here. |

I was attending SilverState Helicopters in Ogden, breifly before they file bankruptcy.
Maybe you can help me out in that area? |
