After (I believe) Corey's intro in the welcome section, I have been dying to do Willis Creek Canyon. I used that awesome website zionnational-park.com:

And it has a great article about how to get there and the need to know info, but I am trying to find the GPS coordinates. Does anyone have them?

They should be in the center of the Willis Creek page but if not they are on this page since the hike ends at Willis Creek.

by the way, you were asking about changing the look of the site. is that coming soon or did you decide against it?

I have time issues! I think all my time goes to posting in this group and it has caused me issues. :lol8:

I did change the lodging pages --- and I really want to change all the other pages, but I messed up one day and decided I wanted to move the folder and bang!!! most of my pages were no longer on a template where I could just change one page and its done... so I will. My season is just starting and its busy here already with the early spring break this year, but I will get it done next winter... I hope!

I don't know that I have ever told you but that is one of my favorite Utah sites.

Tanya and Bo do a terrific job, I used their pages long before i knew them.

Disco, make sure you give a call to the BLM in Cannonville before driving down. Access to Willis Cr will be much later due to the snow.

Hi All,

Willis Creek is a fun family hike. The creek is only a few inches deep most of the time. And it was clear cool water when we went through.

I didn't have a GPS when I went two years ago, but I do remember going a few miles south of Cannonville on the Cottonwood Canyon Rd, then turning west on Skutumpah Rd (or Deer Springs Rd). You cross the creek after a few more miles. There is parking on the west side where you cross Willis Creek. There is a register to sign in. Don't rely on my memory for mileage, please look it up before you go.

Just follow the creek and the canyon gets deeper. No hard spots, just one or two small waterfalls to walk around.

The good narrows only go for only a few miles. We hiked to where Willis Creek ends in Sheep Creek, about 5 miles. The canyon was deep, but not very narrow after 2-3 miles.

Another good canyon is Bull Valley Gorge, just 2 miles further past Willis Creek TH.

Make sure you see the water fall. If you follow the foot path you will not see it. We went down the trail and then on our way back to the car we decided to stay in the water course and found the falls. Really cool looking sculpted rock, looks awesome!

Neat little canyon, used it as an entrance to a couple of days going down the Upper Paria and the sidecanyons. Great and easy backpack, one of my favorites actually. Saw some horseback riders near "crack" spring but didn't see another soul the rest of the trip.
Round Valley Draw is a little more fun, and I used that one for an overnighter down Hackberry ( and sidecanyons too) another cool trip.
Hitchhiked up Cottonwood canyon road more than a few times too.
