The Ogden kids are unfamiliar....

Ahhh... are you guys in for a treat. Too bad it's winter now and it will be a while before you can actually go. It's a place called Tanner Park. It's a popular place to take your dog. The park is south of I-80, just as it intersects I-215 near the mouth of Parleys Canyon. There is grass and a playground near the parking lot, but if you continue past the park it drops into a gully full of trees and a small stream. Follow the stream until you come to a tunnel running under I-215. Wear your swimming suit, bring some small floatation devices, walk up the tube and when I was there last some boards with rope hooked to them were set up at the top. You dam off the creek with the boards, let the water build up, then pull the boards out causing a tidal wave that shoots you through the tube at mach 10 speed. It's a lot of fun. The first time we went it kind of sucked because we weren't going very fast. Luckily some chick that had been a bunch of times taught us the "proper" way to dam and release water into the tube and it was a blast once we got it figured out. I've attached a google earth file that shows you where it is.

Eric.

Cool. Thanks man. That Google Earth is great, isn't it? I'll give Tanner Park a go next spring.
