My wife and I will be heading down to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary next week, and will have a day to spare for hiking. I've heard rumors of some very interesting features in Angel Canyon - underground lake for instance...but am unable to find any real beta online. I'm hoping that some of you might be able to provide me some information...Tanya?...

I drove to the underground lake last year, following directions given me at the Best Friends office. Actually, it's not much of a lake.

Directions by Dean Kurtz and a thread about it
You can access it by the creek crossing just south of the
Angels Rest Cemetary on Kanab Canyon Road. Turn east on the crossing and follow the road to the top of the hill. At the first fork in the road turn right and follow about 1 mile, around a hill and then back east along a fence all the way to the back of a small canyon.
There are a few picnic tables and trash cans here and the road leads right into the mouth of the cave containing the lake.

Read that thread ... at least the posts by Dean. He was talking about some ruins to see near that lake. I have never gone there. In this area when it comes to ruins Deans knows a lot of them. I avoid most because they cross private land and I don't want to deal with those sorts of issues when putting them on my website.
