My Pathfinder broke down and Tanya was not feeling well this past weekend so we didn't get to do our weekly hike together, so I headed up Red Mountain just north of my house yesterday. I ran across this cool, twisted Yucca on my way up! There were some frozen pools of water on top and I broke the ice in one and took a dip! Can't show those photos even if I had some though! Beautiful day however!

You and your insane winter dips.

That looks like a snake. Sorry about your truck. It's the pits being grounded.

Cool! Never saw one like that! Being grounded sucks! Strained knee right now has me chomping at the bit to get out to some cool stuff that's calling my name. Hope you get your wheels back up and running.
Cheers! Up on top, did ya ever see that dead fox in the cave up there?
Skeert me outta my wits. I was walking along and saw this small cave.
I scrambled up to it only to see massive frozen furry beasty staring at me!
Then, I saw it was dead. stiff! Red fox. Whew! close one.
Enjoy your icy swim! hehe

Dang..knees, knees, knees! Hope your knee recupes real fast! Prime time to be out and about around here! Really enjoying your Tr's these days. Look forward to more when you get going again!

No..never saw the Fox? Lots to explore up there for sure though! Quite a long time ago I was ascending a new route on the Diagonal Street Bluff aka. Bluff Street Crags. I weazeled my way up the right facing corner and reached the top of the buttress. Started to mantle up and low and behold there was a Bat staring me in the face! He had been pretty well cooked and dried out by the winter brisk. I named the Climb...who woulda guessed? Freeze Dried Bat! Really nice 15 metre 10A!
