Highly likely that I'll be living just a stone's throw away from Flaming Gorge here soon....where is the best fishing there? Closer to the dam? Higher up? Just curious...

Thanx in advance

For ice fishing, I've seen some decent reports around the Buckboard area. I've never fished it, but everyone seems to say that FG is many lakes in one, so the fishing can be good at one place and terrible at another.

Something I always look for, regardless of where it is would be a steep drop off into the water. From the pics I've seen, that's pretty much most of the FG shoreline, so I would think to fish the mouths of bays and coves made from cliffs. That's most likely where you'll find the predatory fish grouping up the forage species.

Good luck with the endless opportunities with the Gorge. Make sure to post some reports of how you do.
