I've had my Tech license for 13 years now, my call is KC7FEQ. I still have a handheld 2m/70cm radio, but I haven't used it in years.

My friends (KC7IIB, KC7IID, and KC7III) have been bugging me to get my license for years. In fact, they've just started doing a Wednesday study night with a few of my other friends to get them licensed.

I already have too many expensive hobbies.

i've been using Hamtestonline.com (http://www.hamtestonline.com)
it's $50 for 2 years, but it's an amazing study guide.

you should DO IT

then i wont feel like such a lonely GEEK!

My dad, Pete Liedtke... WB7PDH, has been doing it since the 60's. I never did pursuit it far enough but I loved to see where in the world he had been talking to...he has postcards from all over the world from operators & he still runs part of the emergency communications in the intermountain west. He's one of the originals that are still left in the valley.

I have wanted to get my licence (there is a geocache for which you need your licence, & I just think it would be fun to have), but I don't know that I'll get it because of the money.

I think my next certification is going to be my concealed weapons permit.
